Current Scholarships

We encourage all students and their families to check the PHS Scholarships page weekly to view any and all scholarship opportunities that are open to PHS students.  Please know that all scholarships that are made available to PHS students from local organizations are posted on this webpage so that all students, their families, staff, and the community can access this information at any time.

There is no guarantee that each of these scholarships will be available again for the 25-26 school year; however, we are hopeful that they will be and that the timeframes will be similar of their application availability as they were last school year!

Below are mostly local, state, and/or some national scholarships that are currently available for students to apply to:

1) DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Opportunity (posted on 10/22/25)

-The Sequoyah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is happy to announce the Good Citizens Award and Scholarship.  There is an opportunity for scholarships to be won from the chapter, state, and regional groups as well as a possible $10,000 scholarship at the national level!

-Applicants will need to participate in an essay writing portion of the application to move forward in this scholarship competition.  If you would like to sign up to compete in the essay competition, then please sign up in room 410 with Ms. Champion.  The date and time for the essay contest will be Friday, 10/31/25, from 12-2pm in room 410 (tentatively).

-From the pool of essay applicants, a committee will review these to choose the top 3 applicants who will then move on to completing the full scholarship application (application documents will be given to these 3 students).

-If you are interested in this scholarship opportunity, then please sign up in room PHS 410 with  the PHS Graduation Coach, Ms. Champion, by Wednesday, 10/29/25, to participate in the essay contest on 10/31/25.

2) Cooke College Scholarship Program (posted on 9/8/25)

-This scholarship opportunity is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation’s top four-year colleges and universities.

-High school seniors with an unweighted cumulative 3.75 GPA or higher, that will graduate from a US high school in the spring of 2026, who also intend on enrolling in an accredited four-year college beginning in the fall of 2026 semester, and who can demonstrate unmet financial need to fund his/her college education are eligible to apply.

-The deadline to submit your online application for this scholarship opportunity is November 12th, 2025.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation in March of 2026.

3) Georgia State University “The Stamps and Presidential Scholarships” (posted on 10/22/25)

-Both the Stamps Scholarship and the Presidential Scholars Program are open to students who plan on attending Georgia State University.

-The deadline to submit your online application to Georgia State University is November 15th, 2025.  You will be notified by GSU if you are awarded either of these scholarships.

4) UGA CAES Rural Scholars Program (posted on 10/22/25)

-The Rural Scholars Program recognizes incoming, first-year UGA students from Georgia’s rural communities who have excelled academically, show strong leadership abilities, have a record of community service, and seek a degree in UGA’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES).

-The online application and all of its requirements are due on November 14th, 2025.

5) Georgia Military Service Scholarship (GMSS) through UNG (posted on 8/4/25)

-UNG awards 42 full ride scholarships annually via the GMSS for Georgia high school seniors who plan to attend UNG and participate in the Corps of Cadets – the Boar’s Head Brigade.

-Service Obligation: 4 years in the Georgia Army National Guard.  You will commission as an officer in the Georgia Army National Guard with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

-First Consideration Applications are due by November 15th, 2025, and the final deadline to apply is February 1st, 2026.

6) Army ROTC Scholarship (posted on 6/25/25)

-The Army ROTC scholarship pays either 1) all tuition and fees or 2) all housing and food. In return, scholarship recipients commission as Army officers in either the Active Duty Force, the Army Reserves, or the National Guard.

-To get started on your ROTC scholarship application, create an account (Opens in new window) and log in (Opens in new window) to the Scholarship Application via the goarmy.com website. From there, you’ll locate and contact the Recruiting Operations Officer at the college that you plan to attend. In addition, you must apply to the college that you are hoping to attend.

-Click HERE to view more information on this scholarship opportunity, its requirements, and the obligations that you will have to fulfill by accepting this scholarship.

-ROTC scholarship applications opened on June 14, 2025, for the 25-26 school year for high school seniors to apply to. Applications must be started no later than March 4, 2026 to be eligible for review by the Army ROTC National Scholarship Board for the 2025 – 2026 school year. There will be three rounds of reviews by the Board:

-Round 2 is due by January 19th, 2026.

-Round 3 is due by March 16th, 2026.

-Round 1 was due by October 13th, 2025.

7) UNG Cadet Leadership Scholarships (posted on 7/16/25)

-Awarded to interested high school students who will be a Cadet at UNG.  Scholarships range from $500-$12,000.  These scholarships are fully funded by Alumni and donors to the UNG Corps of Cadets.

-The application process will open on 8/1/25 and applications will be accepted until all scholarships are filled (no official deadline posted).
