In this week’s issue, the PJ Flame presents to
you ways to show kindess. Kindness is a big
thing throughout PJHS. Some peers in our
school respect this and share it while some
don’t. How can kindness be shared through
our school? What ways do our peers show
kindness? Great question! After a survey, one
way that was mentioned was taking the time to
compliment others. Simply saying “ I like your
shoes!” or “ Your hair looks really nice today!”
Simple compliments like these can make a big
difference. They may seem small and
insignificant, but they can make a positive
impact on someone’s day. Also, if you do not
feel like giving compliments, just a simple
smile makes the same amount of impact.
Another way that was talked about is not
leaving anyone out. If you see someone sitting
alone, go and talk to them! If you’re with a
group and you notice someone not speaking
as much, ask them a question. Little gestures
like these can persuade others to follow in the
way you have. All it takes is one leader for
others to follow. So, lead them! Let’s all work
together and show our own ways of kindness!

Brayden C., Joecy P., Sawyer J., Jacob B., and Harper C.
Keep up the good work!

8th Grade ELA was nothing but NET today! 🗑️🏀
They brushed up on pronoun-antecedent agreement and then took it to Trashketball! However many questions a team answered correctly = how many shots they earned.
Grammar + competition + a little trash talk = engaged students & locked-in learning.
Who said ELA can’t be a sport? 🔥

Our 9th grade Literature students have been diving into The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare! After close reading and discussion, students prepared for and participated in a friendly debate, arguing whether Juliet’s decision to drink the potion was an act of bravery or foolishness.
Through this activity, students practiced critical thinking, evidence-based reasoning, and respectful discourse—skills that extend far beyond the classroom and into real-world conversations. 👏🎭
