The Milestones tests are an important part of their academic journey, and your words of encouragement can make a meaningful impact as they prepare for and take these assessments.

The PTO/School Advisory Council Meeting is this Wednesday, April 15th beginning at 5:30 in the auditorium. Please join us for a data and school improvement plan review. Additionally, the PTO will be finishing details for our Spring Dance scheduled for April 24th. See you then!

The PJHS Track and Field team competed in several events at the Mountain League Tournament on Friday, March 27. The Dragons had several athletes place in the top 5 in the region meet. The boys relay teams placed 2nd and 5th overall in the 4x400 and 4x100 respectively. Thomas Z. placed 5th in the boys high jump. Slade C. placed 2nd in the triple jump. Sasha M. placed 5th in discus. Colton C. and Ben R. placed 3rd and 4th in the 3200m respectively. Ben R. also placed 5th in the 800m. Kallyn W. placed 3rd in the 1600m. The girls relay team placed 4th in the 4x400m relay. Briley F. placed 4th in the girls shot put. Makayla M. placed 5th in the girls 400m. We are so proud of all of our athletes for the great season, consistent work ethic and strides towards success!

Congratulations to our PJHS Band and Chorus students for their successful trip to Universal in Orlando. They were also joined by members of the PHS Band and Chorus.
Both groups performed outside the parks for an audience and then enjoyed some well deserved fun in the parks. Congratulations to Mr. Smith and Mrs. Tolar for a well-executed trip with over 130 of our performing arts students.

Pickens Junior High will host its annual plant sale on Wednesday April 15th and Thursday April 16th. Hours will be 9-12 and 2:30-4. Plants available are Begonias, Dragon Wing Begonias, New Guinea Impatiens, Coleus and Boston Ferns.
PJHS Basic Ag class is building and selling customized regulation size cornhole boards. For a $250 donation to Pickens Junior High, you can have your own personalized set of cornhole boards for your business. Money is being raised for End-of-the-Year Celebrations and Teacher Appreciation Week. If you want to order your set, please see contact info on flyer.
