Our 7th graders have been busy working on the scientific method during the first two weeks of school. One of our life science classes used an experiment to see how many drops of water could fit on a penny before spilling. Students had to observe the penny, create a hypothesis, and analyze their data.

🌟 Mrs. Sutton & Mrs. Kilchriste’s classes started the day with a Social-Emotional Learning warm-up: Rose, Bud, and Thorn! 🌹🌱🌵 Students anonymously shared a rose (something good), a thorn (something tough), and a bud (something they’re looking forward to). It opened the door to powerful conversations about perspective—a reminder that everyone is carrying something you can’t always see. 💭❤️

First week in 8th Grade ELA = Teamwork in action! 🧩✨

Mrs. Sutton’s class took on the puzzle challenge—focusing on communication, collaboration, and active listening. Speaking & listening are essential ELA skills, and we’re already building them from the start! 💬📚
