We have some awesome students representing PJHS at District 9’s Honor Chorus this year.

They spent yesterday afternoon and will spend all day today at Dawson County High School singing with students from across our northern district. And tonight at 5 pm, they will perform at the Dawson County Performing Arts Center. The performing arts are thriving at PJHS!

PJHS students enjoyed a special Thanksgiving lunch today. It was prepared by our fabulous school nutrition staff, and some of our administrators stepped in to help serve.

In our latest issue of the PJ Flame, Joshua C. wrote about the 7th Grade Boys' Basketball game vs. White County. The article is pictured and the text is as follows:

The Pickens County 7th Grade Boys' Basketball team faced off against the White County Warriors in an intense game last week.

The starting five for Pickens were Parks O., Sam S. (6th Grader), Mathias L., Sonny J., and Slade J..

Pickens won the tip-off, but White County was the first to score. Pickens called their first timeout to regroupat 5:25 in the first quarter. Parks O. scored the first point for Pickens. By the end of the first quarter, White County was up 13 - 7. At halftime, the score was 26 - 16, with White County holding the lead. Wyatt P. led the team in scoring at the half.

Heading into the fourth quarter, the score was 37-29 with White County still ahead. Despite a strong effort from the Dragons, the Warriors held their lead and took the win with a final score of 50 - 38.

Even though Pickens fell short, the team showed great teamwork and determination throughout the game.

It's Opening Night for the 9th Annual PJHS Dinner Theatre Event sponsored by PJHS Drama!

This year's show is called:
"How To Get Away With A Murder Mystery"

with an additional skit entitled "The Big Picture"!

Shows are:
Thursday, Nov. 13th (today)
Friday, Nov. 14th

Times:
Doors open at 5:30 pm for dinner
The show starts at 7:00 pm

Location: PJHS Auditorium

TICKETS will be sold in front of the Nurse's office starting Thursday, November 6th.
You can purchase tickets from Mrs. Tolar or any students in the show.

Tickets are $10 and this includes your dinner and the show!

Come out, eat some dinner, and watch our talented students perform!

Soccer season is coming! There will be a brief interest meeting for students interested in trying out for the PJHS Soccer Teams after homeroom on Wednesday, November 12. Students will need to provide their parents' email addresses.

PJHS Ropes course students attended Central Rock gym in Kennesaw to free climb, and over 20 students obtained belay certification! Students received positive comments about how they conducted themselves. #PJNation

The PJHS Student Council is holding a food drive to help local families in need have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Please consider contributing any of the following items:
Canned Green Beans
Canned Corn
Boxed Stuffing
Cranberry Sauce
Boxed Mashed Potatoes
Canned/Packets of Gravy
Canned Cream of Mushroom Soup
Boxed Cornbread/Biscuits
Non-perishable Desserts

Items will be collected until November 14. Students may give food items to their homeroom teachers.

Please join us as we explore Career Pathways all week long! From November 3-7, students will dive into hands-on activities, guest speakers, and discussions designed to help them discover their interests, strengths, and future career goals.

Each day will dive deeper into the pathway and give students real-world connections to the career of their choice. We encourage parents to talk with their child about what they're learning and how it connects to their dreams for the future! This week is to help prepare our students before going to Pickens County High School for Career Day on November 14th!
